advice, low cost superior products are waiting for you at your local Sally's Beauty Supply store. I have one about an hour away, and boy, i have gotten some great products for less than $5. They always have sales too, and the clerks are very helpful!

I like hair gel ... you get that spiky, sleek, hey-look-at-me look without too much effort or moola! Sweeeet!

I use lotion to make my hair not frizz and then hairspray to style it. I get comments on havein great hair so maybe you could try it and get some looks like I do.
