I have a set of regular sized hot rollers, but I was considering getting the larger ones. My hair is long, but not really long. I wanted to know if it would make a difference. If so, what? I usually just use them to tame down my waves and I never use hair spray when using them. Because at first I have banana curls, until I brush them out. What is a good heat product to use with these so I don't damage my hair.
Hot Rollers?
I also have wavy hair, so to minimize poofy frizziness I lightly straighten it. Then I use big hot rollers and roll them up to about my ears. Not rolling them up all the way helps to minimize the kinks but if I still get them I usually just straighten them out with my straightener. Then I just take the hot rollers out and run my fingers through my hair and I'm done. My hair is to just below my chest and I don't notice a huge difference from when it was shorter, other then it doesn't curl quite as quickly because there is more hair to heat. Oh and to help to keep from ruining your hair always use a heat protectant. I use tresemme heat tamer protective spray and it works well. I spray it in my hair when it is wet then in it when it's dry also. I hope this helps!
Hot Rollers?
it depends on if you want tight ringlets, or broad, wavy hair (which is what bigger rollers are for) .. as for the dent, you could be rolling them the wrong way .. put your hair on top of the roller and roll it towards you .. that way you should not get those dents ..
Hot Rollers?
Ack! A flat iron, then hot rollers? You are asking for dead, fried hair. Even with so-called heat protectors. All they do is coat your hair so that the flat iron doesn't stick to your hair. Heat protectors do not, I repeat, do not keep heat off your hair.
If you want to smooth your hair on large rollers, I suggest caruso rollers. They curl with warm steam and work great. I can set my long hair on a few jumbo rollers, clipped up instead of having the sheild on and in a few minutes I have soft, smooth, silky, UNDAMAGED, straightish, bouncy hair.
No heat, no *shudder* flat iron then hot rollers and my wave is controlled and my hair looks great.
