It all depends on the density of your hair .....Fine hair needs a lighter spray....courser hair needs a firmer hold....Redkin has a product called Hot sets.....I use it for prom styles in my salon....It always holds the hair, but it is ultra firm.
The whole Garnier Fructis line is amazing.
Try using their mousse, I find it works well to keep my curls.

If you are going to Sally's, ask the girls that work there. They will know which product works the best. I have asked their advise several times and they never steer me wrong.
Or, you could try one of the Paul Mitchell products or Bed Head. Sally's will have an equivalent to one of those products for a reasonable price.

Hi, I do the same as you but I don't straighten in everyday I used to because my hair is like yours and my hair straighteners were not much good, until I got a pair of GHDs, and I only have to straighten it after I was it as they are that good. You are doing more damage to your hair if you have to use them ever day because the one you use aren't hot enough. You need ones that have a temperature of over 200. GHDs are 240 at the highest temperature so it might be worth is investing in some of these.
As for the heat protection spray I was recommended by my hair dresser to use INFRATREAT, you get it from Sally's. I was using Morrison's own as I found this Left my hair soft and didn't leave a coating. I have tried Tresemme but I found it made my hair worse for breakage, I do use there shampoos and I was also recommended that they aren't that good. So she told me use this make.
Also I would recommend using hair serum. Not Frizz Ease as I think it makes the hair worse, I use Super soft and it brilliant and repairs and prevent split ends, I got some yesterday and it only costs 鎷?. Also I would recommend a good shampoo and conditioner and leave in conditioner, I have started to use Aussie miracle moisture to get my hair in shape and its brilliant and find straightening my hair afterwards is much easier.
Also they are on offer in Boots at the mo the shampoo and conditioner are 2 for 鎷?.

My wedding theme is casual, fun-filled. I do not want a very elaborate and heavily hair-sprayed bun on my head. In fact I want to wear my hair down. I have straight hair now but intend to give it some soft curls.
Is it true that if the hair is bunned up it is easier to secure the veil? How do I do it if I want to let my hair loose? My gown is full-laced, mermaid cut and have a chapel-length train. Does straight hair go with this design?

My hair is also straight, and I also wanted "soft" curls. It IS harder to attach the veil, but not impossible.
I posted my pics because my gown also was laced, mermaid style, but I had a Cathedral veil for the ceremony (I used the blusher as my veil for the reception). I am glad I wore my hair down, and it fit well with my look.

well, there needs to be something to hook the veil into to keep it in place. something would likely need to be pulled back to keep it in place. I wouldnt do straight hair becuase it looks to informal. I know its a casual wedding, but if your wearing a lace gown, you should at least dress it up a bit.
do what you like it's your wedding, the veil can be held in with the comb and kirby grips to help if need be, the hairdresser will work this all out for you, just take your veil and tiara to a trial at your hairdressers
I don't see why you couldn't wear your hair down. I did the same, though I have very curly hair, but I took some hair from each side and put a pretty jeweled clip to hold it back. For me this helped to hold the barret for the veil. This may be different if your having a veil over your face though, I chose not to do that. But I had a gorgeous dress with beading, off the shoulder straps and a decent length train, and my hair being down really topped it off. I also did a jeweled tiarra instead of the front veil if that helps.

You can put a veil in hair that is all the way down with soft curls! Just make sure the veil has a good comb on it and place it at the crown of your head. Works like a charm!

clean the screen good and then wipe it with fabric softener cloth..........for the curling iron, get the little scrubbies from a dollar store, or other and scrub it off.......will not damage the curling iron..be sure it is cold when you do this........
computere screen--at my job they make us wipe them off with an alcohol swab.

Don't be afraid to purchase tickets online. Also, if you have a Ticketmaster near you, you can get show tickets there in person before you go.
I am not sure about the availability of tickets in the half-price booths, it is day-by-day. I do not know how close or how often you come to New York City, but you could try the theater development fund (tdf.org), they are an organization that for a modest fee (~$25 per year) allows you to purchase seats for Broadway at much cheaper prices. Another option is to try the box office a short while before the curtain to see if they have any last-minute cancellations or discount tickets.
As for unique and less touristy events, it is best to head to the outer boroughs. If you come to Brooklyn, there is a wonderful holiday light display at the entrances to Brooklyn's Prospect Park. Check out a magazine like Time Out New York (timeoutny.com) which is an excellent resource on activities in the city.

Try using a dry erase marker. Take the dry erase marker and scrub the permanent ink mark and let it dry a second then rub it off. It will work if it hasn't been set in by the other chemicals.

Acetone. It gets market out of almost anything. It smells like really strong nail polish remover, so be prepared. You can get it in the automotive cleaning section of most large stores such as target.

What about Mary Poppins or Legally Blond? I love Les Miz, but for me I've been there done that many times and there are just sooo many other shows out there but it is a great show. I know people LOVE Mamma Mia, it just doesn't make me want to see it. I saw Curtains and I really liked it, but I wouldn't make that my special night.
As for matinee vs Sat. night... nothing beats a Sat night, but if you're talking next weekend and you don't have tickets yet... you'll be lucky to get whatever tickets you can find.

I've seen it six times, and the sixth was in the absolute last seat of the last row, with an understudy (Jason Mills) playing the role of the Phantom and I still came out loving it even more........ best show ever...... oh, and personally I like the night shows better, but thats just me. I always think the show should be sort of the ! of the day.. with matinees I always feel weird coming out and thinking... okay what now? But anyway... DEFINTELY see the Phantom if you haven't yet. You won't regret it.

they have wilted and are a bit dry but i love their rustic look and want to preserve them how they are. would hair spray of varnish work?? any ideas would be helpful as the internet was usless with answers... ta
Just keep them in a nice dry spot and dont move them around or touch them to much. I gave my girlfriend a bunch of roses that she tied up and hung upside down to dry. these lasted for a good couple of years. Hair spray would probably help or spray on laquer would be good if you gave them a few light coats. Doing each one induvidually would be best,taking care of course.

You can reinforce the stems by attaching floral wire with floral tape. I have also mnay years ago dipped the flower head in clear melted wax, a very light, coat hanging upside down to drain . You can also spray with several VERY light coats of a clear matte spray.

I guess I didn't state this right the first time, but thank you all for your answers. I covered a flower in Vaseline and hair spray and then wrapped it tightly, but nicely, so you can still see the flower in Saran wrap. I did this once before when I was in 3rd grade with leaves, and the collection stayed just like new until I was in 10th grade and my cat ripped the saran wrap and air hit the leaves. I do know because leaves and flowers are different, it might be a different case. Can anyone help? Thanks!
If you have access to a laminating machine, you can seal the flower(s) permanently in between laminating sheets.
I'm familiar with two methods of preserving flowers or leaves.
1) silicone ~ can get it at any craft store
2) old fashion way of sticking it in a book
You have probably already heard of these solutions since you've already asked this question before.
You can hang them upside downf to dry.
Spray them with a special silicone spray that is offered in plant stores.
Or press them between a heavy book.
All 3 work for me.
you can cover flowers in cat litter and they will dry but the colors do not remain true. roses can be buried in table salt and they keep their color. buy a small flower preserving kit and look at the ingredients in the drying granules and make your own preservative.

I am in a school group, and we got all of these faux fur squares and are selling them as flags for our homecomming game (we are Tigers, and the fur is tiger spriped). The fur is kind of cheap, and becuase of this, when you weave them, they have all this extra fur that falls off into the air. I havew tired to wave it alot of get it all of,f but more and more just falls off. I do not fear that all the fur will fall off and the flag will be bare, btu I am worried that it will fall of and look cheap. Any tipes on what to do to stop this excese fur from fling off. Would hair spray work? I am open to any ideas!
Clear nail polish works, but since you're probably doing a lot of these, check a fabric or craft store. They sell sprays that stop fabric from unraveling and will probably help with this. Ask any employee at a fabric store for more ideas. Hair spray would only be a temp fix, it would get rubbed away or dissolved if it rained.
Also, if you have to cut the squares for any reason, just make a starter cut and tear instead of cutting, causes less lost fuzz.
Another option if you have a parent or friend with a sewing machine and a lot of patience, ask them to stitch along all the edges.

I asked a ? re: lipstick stain. Looks like AquaNet Hair Spray is a good bet. I looked a little further and saw that in the past a chef used Biz bleach and said it removed stains from his chef uniform(?).
I live in CentralCA.,Davis, Sacramento, Roseville, Folsom-out in those areas. Is this item easy for me to pick up at a retail store?

I thought Biz was everywhere you can find a Wal-Mart. I use it all the time and it's great. It's a nationally recognized and advertised product, you shouldn't have any trouble finding it in your area.
My Wal-Mart only has the Biz in powder form, but I recommend the liquid--it's much easier to use and won't clump when you add it to your washing machine.

I'm not sure about Biz and I have also looked for it here in Va but haven't been able to find any locally. However I do use Spray N Wash Dual power and it is probably the best stain treatment that I have ever used and is widely available at pretty much anywhere that carries laundry detergents. there is a part when uma thurman gets mad at juliette lewis and gets her can of hairspray and smashes it outside of the bar and leaves it in the street then goes home and leaves juliette lewis there....well at the next seen uma picks her up and they make up about the fight,well juliette lewis says i had to walk all the way home carrying my hair spray..how did she do that when uma destroyed it??...stupid question...but it bugs me...can anyone explain what i'm missing.

Why was the hairspray so important that it had to be smashed by one woman and then carried all the way home by another woman? What is it with the dang hairspray?!?
You know........the anti-smoking, pro gay/lesbian, etc., etc........before the "politically correct" jump all over me on this, understand this much.........I know smoking isn't good for you, but outlawed in NJ bars/clubs??....that's like going to the beach and the lifeguards telling you that you can't swim in the ocean. I do enjoy tobacco products with a beer as do many if not most people I've seen in bars/clubs. In addition, the 2nd hand smoke reports are grossly exxagerated.....you're more likely to be affected by car fumes and hair spray.
As for gay/lesbian.....I haven't a problem with anyone personally as I've worked with a few gay/lesbians and gotten along quite well; I treat them as anyone else, but I'm talking about the politically correct that get pissed off because I don't agree with it......calm down..........I just don't think it's natural and don't agree with it. I'm not going to throw you off a cliff, so long as you don't attempt to throw me off a cliff...metaphor.

I do get a little angry with the PC people who constantly freak out and want to censor everything that people say. It's one thing to yell at someone when they are being an a**hole but another when you start berating decent people when they "mess up" and use a vocabulary word which may be considered a little outdated. I can't have an honest conversation with someone who is concentrating on my exact choice of words rather than the point I'm trying to make.
I was really unhappy with the no-smoking in bars law that passed in NYC. I thought it would have been nice to have had only half of them become no-smoking. Or even a large place that could have a smoking room in the back or downstairs with a door that could close tight.
PC people drive freaking nuts. if one more pc person calls me disable, handicap, ect. im going to scream. yes i know im cripple.

i have a really bad breakout on my forehead nose and some on chin. i like never have pimples and this is by far the WORST it has ever been. i thought it was sweat, so i stopped excercising and i stopped using hair spray, and it still keeps getting worst and worst by the day. today i got three pimples. it is starting to look BAD. do any of you have any home remedies or anything that could help? thanks.
Make sure that your makeup sponges and what not are clean, wash your face two times a day- don't over wash it will just irritate your skin. I've heard the tooth paste remedy too, I wouldn't do that personally though. I would visit a dermatologist if you are able to because they can help you find something that works and will hopefully keep the acne from reappearing. Also, it might just be your hormones. If you are close to your menstrual cycle you might just be breaking out because of that and regular cleaning will help keep oil away. Be patient and gentle on your skin.

Just keep your face clean...Cetaphil for normal to oily skin is a good cleanser- my dermatologist told me to use it...and use an oil control moisturizer!
And drink lots of water!
Well, i'm not sure about anyhome remedies, i've heard about putting toothpaste on your acne but i wouldn't try that. There this thing called Proactiv Solution. It really works I use it every night and day, i don't have as much acne as a started with before i tried this treatment.
Do you use make up? Sometimes, make up cause pimples. Especially old make ups. Sorry- just keep wash your face every morning and night. I hope it'll go away soon :)
you can put toothpaste on them, it'll shrink them down some and drink PLENTY of water everyday!!!!
Use plain white toothpaste to dry out pimples overnight. Rinse off in the morning.
Always wash face twice a day. Never sleep in make-up.
Use a face wash especially made for acne.
Keep excercising! Sweating helps remove the icky dirt built up in your pores. Just make sure you clean up afterwards!
If you're really worried I would visit a dermatologist for help.

Zits, pimples, Etc. are caused by eating alot of Junk food. so try eating healthiear for example Fruit, fruits have Antioxidants %26amp; vitamins which is a very good thing to maintain good skin health. Or whole grains because grain fibers flush out toxins to help skin clear. try staying away from Caffenie (like Cofee, Tea, Colas, %26amp; energy drinks), Sugar(candy, soda, desserts, %26amp; syrup), Processed foods(like hot dogs, canned soup, Tv dinners, %26amp; instant noodles), %26amp; Greasy foods ( like chips, Fried Foods, Fast Food, %26amp; Margarine) because all these foods cause Acne.
THe same thing happened to me... i think due to stress...ive been using neutrogena acne stress control scrub thing and its really good. also steam open your pores. Goodl luck and i wish you the best
Don't stop exercising! Exercise is good for the body; it helps flush out some of the toxins that can cause acne. You should also invest in a good acne cream or face wash, and talk to a doctor or dermatologist.
1. Wipe your face with a warm wet wash cloth only in a downward motion so you don't push any thing on you face into your skin.
2. Dab each pimple with white toothpaste and leave on until you wake up tomorrow.
3. Wipe off with a warm wet wash cloth in a downward motion.
4.Apply visine to red spots.
5. Moisturize with a moisturizer not hand lotion.
Don't wash your face with soap, you'll break out and your pores will get large.
If you don't have white toothpaste then a clay mask will work. Even dry oatmeal mixed with a little water (enough to make a paste) will work.

Stop the craziness w/ the toothpaste!!! It so makes your skin too dry %26amp; causes more breakouts %26amp; oiliness!!!
Ok, this is one of the best remedies because it is ph balanced %26amp; out of balanced skin will break out. Baking soda used as a facial scrub %26amp; final rinse when you are cleansing your face. I use this will my clients %26amp; I recommend they do it %26amp; they love it. Results are amazing.
Change your washcloth and pillow case often . Bacteria can linger and cause breakouts . Check out Aveeno's bar for oily skin . It's widely availible and not so expensive. Find a light oil free moisturizer to balance your skin out.
You can get some calamine lotion (only a couple of dollars) apply it just to the zits and let it dry overnight . It's antiseptic and takes the red down.
Drink more water to help flush your skin . Wash your face a couple times a day when the oil gets bad. You can also dab zits with witch hazel to dry them up.
Try to eat a balanced diet and add some fresh fruits and veggies if you can.
If you've switched shampoos switch back .
You can also balance your skin by mixing 2oz water with two ozs milk and a quarter cup of oats. Apply it once a week to sooth and soften your skin.

buy oxy ointment (there are wipes and cream, don't get the wipes get the cream, its in a little bottle and it comes either transparent or tinted) i once had a huge pimple like bigger than anything else to the point where i had to start covering it with a small bandage, and then i started using oxy and it started to get smaller then eventually disappeared. also, no scars or marks were left, you cant even tell i once had a huge pimple. and dont pop your pimple, a scar might be left
Hey Jessica, the main questions should be what do you use to wash and moisturize your face? Make sure you are using something designed for your skin type and, this is VERY important, stay with one line for your entire cleansing routine. If you choose something like neutrogina, then use all neutrogina products. Don't use something like an oil of olay cleanser and a neutrogina moisturizer because it will put your face's ph out of balance. Also, try using a specialized toner, like Mary Kay's oil control toner on your pimples. This product is amazing and I have many teens who are using it. BTW, eating greasy foods do not cause pimples. Pimples are usually caused by hormones, impurities in the skin or stress.
I have severe acne and scar easily too. So I feel your pain. I found this website, and they have essential oil blends that they tell you how and what to mix it with to help heal your acne. That one is oily on your face, but it really works! And the other one is in the free recipe section to help get rid of acne scars. That one really works, but you don't see the results over night... you have to be patient. It worked on me, and my face was pretty bad. On that same page, they also have acne mask.
