Whats the best way to make hairspray cans explode????? not that I would recommend doing it... but simply heat the can to above 150 F or so...
Keep in mind that when the can bursts, the propellant in the can will ignite very rapidly... into a fairly large fireball. Depending on how the can bursts, it could also result in a fracture in the can which will cause a "flamethrower" like effect...
If you decide to try it... don't stand within 15 feet while it is heating up...

You have to make a small fire, hot enough to keep itself going, and add alot of fuel to it at once (like shredded newspaper, dried grass, wood chips. Soak them all in lighter fluid if you can), then toss the can in the center so that it doesnt roll or bounce out.
People I know used to do that with CO2 cans, the kind used for paintball guns. Made a nice fireball about 6' high and about that diameter.

Some years ago they placed a stack of hairspray in a 4^3 pallet arangement in a metal building suited for testing such stuff and set it on fire.
The explosion blew the walls off the building and the surrounding towns thought there was an earthquake.
This resulted in some drastic reformulation of the aerosol propellant used in future hairspray. It's still volatile, but nothing like it was back then.

Basically what you do is make a fuse with rolled up cloth or paper towels and attach it to the can with glue or tape. Then the can must be thrown with great force onto a hard surface like cement or pavement. For you want the hairspray to vaporize and create internal pressure. The duct tape will keep the can a bit more stable. Also remember the fire must be extremely hot. Whats the best way to make hairspray cans explode????? you need to add an american cigarette. and some tape. tape the book of matches to the side of the can. light the cig. place the cig inside the matchbook so the cover can be closed. american cigarettes dont go out (usually) so this is your fuse. the cig will burn down, lighting the matches. the whole book of matches against the side of the can should heat it enough to burst and ignite the flamable liquid inside. a fuse is necessaryto get yourself away from the bomb. remember this is a bomb. and you will be caught and prosecuted for wrongdoing
