Do I need new straighteners?

At the moment I have "vidal sassoon maximum" straighteners. I have layered, naturally curly hair but it is not too unmanageable. Whenever i try to straighten my hair, it takes forever to get every bit straight. When i have finally straightened it, after about 20 minutes it starts flicking at the ends and on the layered bits, and it looks bad! Should i be using better hair spray?(i have tryed l'Oreal flexible hold and TRESemme extra hold) Or should i get better straighteners, and if so which ones do you recommend? (Not too expensive please!)

Do I need new straighteners?

Well how long have you had your straightener for? And how long do you let it heat up for? Either way Revlon makes the best cheapest hair straighteners.

that is hair for you. i would try a moose and MAYBE a higher heat on ur straightner

I would stop using the hair spray and switch over to a product that is meant for the heat. hair spray is supposed to be used at the end to hold the finished product in place.

I recommend L'Oreal, John Frieda, and Bed Head products.

I use to use those cheaper versions of straighteners. But my best advice would be to invest in a ceramic straightner by Chi or even Bed Head's line. You can find them on Ebay for around $70....well worth the money. It saves you time and is better for your hair. You can always help keep frizz or fly-aways out of the picture by using a syrum before using your straightener. You can get those practically anywhere, I prefer Biosilk products for that! Hope that helps :)

Nah.. get a flat iron it will save you a ton of money.

Well first off you should try using Super Skinny by Paul Mitchell. You can only buy it in a salon, you wanna use the Shampoo and Cond. then the serum. Its about $12.00 at any supercuts. Then use your flat iron. That might help, or Try Sleek works by matrix. If your flat iron has a heat Gage set it at its highest but be sure not to leave it on the hair for too long, or you will fry your hair. You might need a hotter iron, Try Paul Brown or Hot Tools, my 2 personal favs. You cant really help what the humidity does to your hair, unless you wanna wear an old lady cap on your head when you go out :)
