How do I curl my hair with hot currlers?? and how much hair spray do i use???? please help

Do not use hairspray. Use a spritz spray on unclean ( not greasy hair) Do not wash hair for two days and do not have too much product in yr hair. Hair is complete dry and use hot rollers and leave overnight and take out in morn. Using low heat on hair dryer fluff and spray with not a heavy spray and go. If your hair does not normally hold curl go to salon and ask about product that has curl enhancing.

I get my hair cut about once every 6 weeks, or about every 2 months and it costs me $20 each time. About $120. I have to straighten my hair because i have MASSIVE waves on my hair! so i get the magic perm (sounds crappy, but REALLY good) and that costs $150.00, some times $220.00. so $150 to $320.

Besides, when girls as young as me, (thirteen) get their hair colored, it looks so wrong and unnatural. They just put huge chunks of lines on the top of their head. BIG mistake.

I have natural brown, blonde, red, and black highlights.

I color my hair at home, and I buy the kits when they are on sale, even if I've just dyed my hair that week.

That way I have plenty on hand when it's time to touch up my roots.

I usually get my haircuts at discount places like SuperCuts, but once in a while I will go to a proper salon and get a new cut and style. I tend to look around and find a salon that has an apprentice, or stylist-in-training, who is being supervised by the owner. The charge is usually less than if you go to a regular, "certified" stylist, but becuase the owner is right there, there is little that can go wrong.

So with that in mind, I'd have to say I spend a maximum of $110 a year.

i get y hair cut every 3 months. so cuts - 80 dollars. dyeing my hair - I love L'Oreal Couleur Experte and its great. around AUS $25 every 6 months. I get my sister to put the highlights in for me. And in response to something a previous person said -- if I had natural blonde brown and red highlights i wouldnt dye my hair either.

ok i like 2 braid my hair after a shower den ova night i let it completly dry da curls r beutiful but den after it frizz up n da curls go away n it poofs up a lot so can sum 1 tell me a good hair spray dat holds curls but doesn't make it 2 hard or sticky

use hair gel on your hair before you braid it and spray it with hairspray in the morning when you take the braid out.

aussie has this frizz spray just you just spray on your hair in the morning when you take the braids out and it completely takes away the frizz, it works really well and it isn't too expensive. i use white rain hair spray, it works good but dont make your hair hard and sticky or greesy looking and they have tons and tons of kinds so it always makes your hair smell good, plus its cheap

I use Aussie Scrunch Spray - it holds all day, but it does dry hard. Maybe try putting a gel in your hair before you braid it?

herbal essences totally twisted hair spray is the only hair spray i know of that dosent harden your hair at all. and its barley sticky at all just a little.

frizz-eez! Or you can buy Aussie Flexible hairspray and spray it on after you take the braids out (if you put it on before it will probably hold the braid in place and make it hard to get a part and make your hair look messy..=P)

I use Suave hairspray. It may not be a big name brand, but it works really well. My hair tends to poof and get static-y when I use some hair products, but not with this. :)

Before you braid your hair wet them with beer and the next day you ill have nice curls, my mom did this to my hair when she braided them ,it's a bit old fashion but it really work!

My forehead is breaking out!! Is it because of my hairspray??

Ok so I just gave myself side sweeped bangs and I have been using hairspray to hold and train my hair to be the way I want it. I noticed yesterday that my forehead had some bumps on it, they are my regular skin tone but they are bumps and you can feel them

My question is: Could I be allergic to the hairspray that I am using?(Hebal Essances, Shimmery Nights)

Should I switch to a hairspray that won't make my forehead break out?

P.S.- It is only happening on my forehead (the area where my bangs hang over my face, and where my bangs don't touch my face is clear that's how I came with the guess that it was my hair spray)

Its most likely the hair spray. You should switch up to a lighter brand/hold or clean your face after you spray your bangs. Good luck!

If your skin is unable to breath it will break out. The hairspray is preventing oxygen from getting to your skin. Also, when you have your bangs in your face, it does the same thing and you tend to sweat where your bangs hang down.

Test it to see if you are correct

1) stop using that particular hairspray - there are several out on the market that are fragrance free.

2) Don't hold the hairspray so close to your hair and forehead

3) Have you been using a different shampoo and/or conditioner? If you continue to have the bumps after changing your hairspray, it could be your shampoo and make sure you rinse very well.

4)Any other styling product that could be in contact with your skin.

To effectively decide what is causing the breakouts - you need to test or eliminate one product at a time, so you know what is causing the breakouts. Stay away from "protein" enhanced hairsprays - you might have a reaction to collagen - that is in Protein Hairsprays.

Hope it works out for you. If nothing cures your bumps - then seek out medical advise from a Dermatologist.

Its probably just clogged pores, not an allergy. do your hair the way you like it, then gently lift your bangs up and wipe your forehead with a wet cloth to get the hairspray off your skin.

You could in fact have sensitive skin, and your skin could be having an allergic reaction to the chemicals in the hairspray. Instead of switching to a new hairspray, I would recommend giving yourself a break from the hairspray for a few days to a week. I would recommend using hydro cortisone on the broken out area and washing with a gentle cleanser such as cetaphil. Hydro cortisone will decrease inflammation and allergic reaction to the area affected. Since, you said the bumps are the color of your skin, I don't think it is acne blemishes. If, however, the area develops redness and appears to develop whiteheads, this is in fact a breakout. Either way, your hairspray is causing irritation to the area. If the area clears after taking a break from the hairspray, you could try another hairspray Be careful when spraying, ensuring that the spray doesn't touch the skin. If after time the area is still not clear, I would see a physician or specifically a dermatologist, so he or she can prescribe a prescription topical.

P.S. When applying hydro cortisone, use caution. Wash your hands after use, so you don't get it into mucus membranes such as the eye, mouth, or nose.

I have been thinking about getting a body wave..?

my hair right now is medium length passed my shoulder with alot of layers cuz its kinda thick. and it doesnt hold any curl with outt huge amounts of hair spray and styling gel. i would like to make it easier to curl would i body wave do this?

DO NOT DO THIS. I REPEAT...DO NOT DO THIS. I had one a year and a half ago and my hair is STILL recovering......my hair never held a curl and is stick striaght and very long....I decided to get a body wave (which is actually just a perm with larger rods). It destroyed my hair...which I had never processed before... it fried pieces so they looks like someone used a toothpick sized crimper on them all around my face. I've been growing out those loathesome pieces since 2 decembers past and I still cannot get my hair texture back to the beautiful silky long hair I once had...DO NOT DO IT IF YOU HAVE ANY RESPECT FOR YOUR HAIR FOLICLES.... It was so bad the first 4-5 months after the process that I actually contemplated cutting my hair boy-short to get rid of it.

Ok my fringe and my hair is very bouncy and long but my fringe is sort of all bouncy and wavy at the top so it sort of curves. Gel or hair spray does int work it just departs... Any one got any tips or any websites with advice?

i wouldn't repeat others - straightener is really good. also buy yourself round brush and dry your fringe using it. after both actions - use hairspray.

Well...

Firstly, apply some sort of heat protection serum/spray etc. to your fringe, so you don't fry it, lol.

Secondly, straighten your fringe, combing after each time you've brought the irons down your hair.

This *normally* works really well, and once you've finished apply hairspray.

However, if your straighteners are kind of old it may not create the same effect %26amp; you might have to be really patient going down the same hairs numerous times [only if your straighteners are quite cool - try to avoid going over the same hairs with really hot straighteners cause you can cause damage to your hair.]
